240) Cusack's of North Strand Road, D3

Distinguished by an impressive old-fashioned diving bell. Very rich in maritime memorabilia is this old ship, a onetime local to messrs Stephens and Saunders. Serves a delicious Beamish. Supposedly once visited by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, when the latter was filming The Spy Who Came In From The Cold in Dublin in 1965. The plot required him to masquerade as a seedy drunk – not much of a stretch for him at that time of life.

TDP arrived here on Bloomsday 2022 to sample some more Beamish but Stephens had to embarrassingly bow out unable to keep up after starting on the lash early over in Gravediggers. Pathetic!
