Located in a quiet backwater, a menacing exterior conceals a wondrous interior, replete with radiant golden light and lush paintings of waterfalls on the walls. Literary greats like Shaw and Yeats and Joyce are also represented. The Beamish is something of a letdown, but one could write this off as an anomaly – a bad day, bad pipes.
