A loud and lively dark lounge. A small and quiet bright bar. Not a pub to which we would be rushing to return. One may sit next to a coal burning stove in the bar. A small Beamish clock over the inside door is a nod to yesteryear as only Guinness is served now - it being so near to the main supply. €4.40 a pint is well priced. If one is imbibing in these parts - try the Pimlico Tavern instead where a Beamish will be just one part of a greater reward. Astonishingly, implausibly, remarkably, ‘cheques are no longer accepted.’ Another sign which can be subtly deciphered behind the bar warns all patrons that the current proprietor of the present establishment permits very strictly: No Farting.
