348) O'Connell's of East Pier, Howth, North County Dublin

This offered the finest Beamish we found on this stretch – but considering the piss-poor quality of the preceding pints, we do but damn with faint praise. Less of a bar and more of a labyrinthine restaurant with a markedly reluctant option of alcohol begrudgingly poured. Dark and very noisy – it takes a good long while to get served at the very lengthy and very crowded counter, and conversation is harder given the prevailing hubbub, leading to repetitive shouting. A photo on a wall commemorates a certain local pint-man called John Egan, nicknamed 'The Cowboy'. It's a bit of a hole.
