Reputedly the smallest pub in Dublin (350 square feet, see also: The Lotts for their phony boast), a dark subterranean cave that fits perhaps 30 people comfortably and 60 at a stretch, accessible by a pretty spiral staircase. Its novelty value makes it an enjoyable curio, but 'twould be a stretch to go too frequently – one's pockets will be pilfered from the heinous prices at the same time as one rapidly develops Vitamin D deficiency from the sepulchral lack of light. The dark carpet must have been heavily powdered with the ‘devil’s dandruff’ back when it was the go-to for RTÉ legends Eamon Dunphy and Gerry Ryan in the height of their coke days.
