Expecting the worst (cost-wise) as we ordered a Guinness, we were pleasantly surprised to find it was only four euro fifty – a throwback to the city centre of the naughties era. The barman handed back the euro change with a certain flair and thespian flourish, as if to say 'suck on that, gotcha, cheap as chips,' etc. (Although chips have gone awful dear, Bernie!).
